Short answer is no. Gutter guards don’t guarantee that you’ll never need to clean your gutters again. It is simply a preventive of large debris like leaves, sticks, pine leaves, ect.  Smaller particles like dirt and dust can still seep into your gutters. But by installing gutter guards, it would mean you would clean your gutters less frequently.  

If gutter guards are installed properly, they shouldn’t damage your gutters or roof. 

For homes that are surrounded by trees or in areas with high-risk of falling debris, they are worth the investment. It would help prevent more frequent cleaning.
